Setting the scene:
When I shoot food and table decor, I prefer natural lighting with my camera stabilised with a tripod. If a broader range of dynamic shots is best, then I will supplement with a positioned fill and flash to make the captures fast enough to provide sharp and detailed results.

For a single plate, I will image multiple views with several lens options to find just the right image that best represents the dish and setting.
